Thistle House Farm
Senior Day Program
COMING SOON!
We need your input!
Dear Potential Clients and Care Partners,
We are excited to announce our plans to open a Therapeutic Care Farm in Brant County, offering a day program from 9 AM to 2 PM, including lunch. This program aims to provide outdoor activities for seniors living with dementia who require a maximum of one-person assistance for daily activities. Our initial offerings will include daily farming activities, gardening in raised garden beds, a sensory garden, and, in the future, animal care such as egg-laying chickens, goats, and cows.
The benefits of a Therapeutic Care Farm for your loved one include increased sensory stimulation, physical activity, enhanced social interaction, and a renewed sense of purpose. Activities will range from planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting to making healthy food from their harvest and taking home the fruits and vegetables of their labor. Additionally, the day program provides much-needed respite for caregivers.
Our dedicated staff will include Rehab Assistants, Social Workers, Care Support Workers, Behavioral Therapists, and Horticultural Therapists, all providing care and assistance to the clients of our day program.
We would love to know if this is something that would interest you for your loved one.
